Ferron earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Forest Management and Planning from the University of Minnesota–Twin Cities in 2011.  He is a certified arborist and holds a degree in Wildland/Wildlife law enforcement and Machine Tooling CAD/CAM, as well as certificates in project management and IRWA acquisition classes.  He holds a class A CDL and is a Notary Public in Wisconsin and Michigan.

Ferron’s day to day responsibilities include performing right-of-way negotiations with landowners for utility and county projects.  He assists with project tracking and direction of administrative staff regarding document preparation and client correspondence.  He is the Project Manager of shoreline monitoring, ensuring compliance with Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) requirements.  He is actively involved in Steigerwaldt Tree Farms, where he performs wholesale Christmas tree sales, fieldwork, data analysis, equipment sales, and ensures customer satisfaction.  Ferron also provides a support role in developing and implementing company safety policies and procedures.

Prior to his current position, Ferron performed vegetation management on over 2,000 miles of transmission corridor in Illinois.  He was the operations manager and was responsible for managing crews and performing quality assessments of the work completed.

Ferron enjoys most of his time outdoors, traveling, farming, and spending time at the cabin.
