Emily Pierce, Senior Land Surveyor at Steigerwaldt, recently took her place as the newly elected president of the Wisconsin Society of Land Surveyors organization. This is Emily’s second year of her three-year term; in 2015, she served as President-Elect, and she will be serving in 2017 as Past President.

She has been a member of the organization for 15 years, starting as a student member and becoming a full member in 2005. She is only the second female, and the youngest ever, to hold this prestigious position in the organization.

The Wisconsin Society of Land Surveyors is a statewide organization made up of over 800 members, representing the majority of land surveyors licensed to practice in Wisconsin. The Wisconsin Society of Land Surveyors was founded in 1952 as a professional organization dedicated to the following objectives and goals:

  • To promote the common good and welfare of its members
  • To advance the profession of land surveying by promotion of high standards of practice and ethical conduct
  • To encourage and support educational programs for its members
  • To promote a better understanding and appreciation of how surveyors serve the public interests.

Congratulations to Emily on her recent appointment from her friends and family at Steigerwaldt!
